I can't believe nobody else has jumped on this one.
I did a Painter/CS2 job on it.
Thanks, Ken and thanks, Mr. Willis.

Thanks DC
I like the warm tones and the texture of your piece.

I hope that this will be popular, as John Willis has given us some other shots from his recent visit to France, for us to use.
Best wishes,
Ken

Definitely enjoyed the play Ken. Seam Carved to the smaller size and then did so many other things including Xero's Soft Mood and Supersmooth. :)

Ken, good choice, and great job of enhancing the color, tone, and mood!

DC, another very nice mood enhancing tweak!

Dan, fabulous "old world" style!

Barbara, a very romantic look, as if it's an illustration from a fairy tale book!

Kyle, a nice fantasy look!

Phil, good watercolor look!

Ray, all I can say is :wow:

This is more like it, guys. These are all great.
Dan, I especially like what you did (how did you do it?). And adenov, I like that you put leaves on the trees - I thought about it but decided it was too much work - and cleared up the mucky-looking water.

John Willis the originator of this picture, has just sent this message to me;
"I am constantly looking at the forum page - I am amazed at what some
of these guys have done"

John is a Professional Photographer from England, and is allowing us to
to share many more of his pictures in the coming weeks.

Best wishes,

Everyone has done such lovely and creative things with this picture. I look forward to getting more time to play!

Have I done something wrong, or has it just disappeared? I can't see Ray's picture.

Hi, Phyllis, thank you for your kind comment.
I have a lot of my own actions for my works and didn’t remember exactly what I did for this pic, but I remember that there is based on the Smart Blur filter:
1. Saturate – more saturate
2. Duplicate background
3. Smart Blur filter with default settings about 5~10 times.
4. Than I put on the top the background’s color component* layer with Color Blending mode and do Color Balance for it (about -60,5,60 for the Shadows, Midtones, and Highlighs)
5. Merge Down
6. Texturizer
7. Unshurp
8. Clear some white “spots” on the foreground with the Healing Brush.

*background’s color component – make two layers, first fill 50%-gray and the second – background copy, put the second as the top layer with Color Blendings Mode, Merge Down.

I hope my poor English is rather understandable :-(
Better show :). Some of my works you can see in my workstore:

Alexmeta, thanks for the method. I had never heard of let alone tried making a color component layer. I just tried it on a photo and got some really nice results by using different layers and adjusting color balance.

Hi, adenov
1. Open your image in Photoshop
2. Copy and duplicate your background. (Ctrl+A, Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V)
3. Fill the layer with 50% gray
4. Paste the background copy (Ctrl+V)
5. Blend the layer with Color Mode

So, you have three layers:
3. Background copy (Color Mode)
2. Gray 50%
1. Background

Merge the third with the second.
Here is - background’s color component
